The Aboriginal Water ActionGroup consists of professionals (water specialists, environmental scientists, communicators, business people and Aboriginals) who aim to improve the conditions under which the Canadian First Nations, Métis and Inuit people live with regards to access to safe water.  By fostering a relationship of trust between the Aboriginal people and experienced technical people, we hope to develop a training program that will provide local Aboriginal people with the skills to be water keepers in protecting their water sources.  This program will be aimed at the current education levels of the local people.  This training take into account the location of the community, current and future sources of contamination, needs and challenges.  Each community will be partnered with an experienced hydrogeologist or hydrologist who will be available for troubleshooting and technical support.

This program, and the ActionGroup, is in the process of determining the desired outcomes and the steps involved in moving ahead.  If you wish to contribute, please contact us.
